Meet Celia
Hi, I’m Celia Hope Shanahan, owner of Celia Hope Events. I was born and raised in Maine and graduated from the Tourism and Hospitality program at the University of Southern Maine with an emphasis in Event Planning and Management. My education at USM and my work in restaurants and catering connected me with some of the region’s most respected wedding and event planners. Working beside them, I learned not just the technical skills, but the art of bringing visions to life. This experience led to a position as the catering and events manager at a well-known local restaurant, where I planned and executed weddings, corporate events, and other celebrations. All of these incredible opportunities over the past 5 years have helped me bring Celia Hope Events to life.
Celia Hope Events was born in 2025 from a simple belief: every celebration should feel as unique as the love story behind it. I don’t just coordinate events—I cultivate relationships. For me, it’s never been just
about logistics. It’s about connection. From our first conversation through your final send-off, I’m invested in understanding your vision and partnering with your vendors to create something beautifully, authentically yours.
After planning my own wedding, I knew without a doubt that this is what I wanted to do. I want to help others have that same sense of joy and presence on their special day. Planning my wedding taught me firsthand how overwhelming the details can be—and how precious it is to actually be present and enjoy the celebration you’ve dreamed about. Now, my mission is to give you that gift: the freedom to be fully present with the people you love, knowing every detail is taken care of.
